Presumably he knows his background for this new story, Jamaica of the Negro and mulatto. A self-conscious, artificial story of a native girl adopted by missionaries, educated in England, and then brought back to her own people. The conflict between her training and her instincts is told in flowery style, tinged with Hollywood diction.
