Review: My Life in France

Avis de journaliste - Bookreporter.com - Terry Miller Shannon

In her memoir, we discover that Julia Child was not born with a wooden spoon in her hand; her early cooking experiences were sometimes less than delectable. Her adventures, culinary and otherwise, are chronicled in amazing detail and much charm, written with Alex Prud'homme, Paul Child's grandnephew. The book opens with an introductory first sentence from Julia that speaks for itself: "This is a ... Consulter l'avis complet

It will be a surprise to those who know me that I bothered to read a book having to do with cooking. The story, however, gave me an appreciation of the art and science of preparing food well, the ... Consulter l'avis complet

I loved "Dearie" when I read it last November, and I think I love this autobiographical account even more than I did the much denser, wider view of that Julia Child biography. This book will be picked ... Consulter l'avis complet

I loved this book and totally recommend it! I loved the movie Julie & Julia and this books covers Julia and Paul Child's life from 1948 until Paul's death in the 1990s. Julia writes as enthusiastically as I picture her talking. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of France in the 50's. Consulter l'avis complet
