87. Queft. What is Repentance unto Life?

Anfw. Repentance unto Life is a Saving Grace, whereby a Sinner out of the true fenfe of his Sin and Apprehenfion of the Mercy of God in Chrift doth with Grief and Hatred of his Sin, turn from it unto God, with full Purpose of, and Endeavour after new Obedience1.

88. Queft. What are the outward Means whereby Chrift communicateth to us the Benefits of Redemption?

90. Queft. How is the Word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to Salvation?

Anfw. That the Word may become effectual to Salvation, we must attend thereunto with Diligence, Preparation, and Prayer 9, receive it with Faith and Love, lay it up in our Hearts, and practise it in our Livest.

91. Queft. How do the Sacraments become effectual Means of Salvation?

Anfw. The Sacraments become effectual Means of Salvation, not from any vertue in them, or in him that doth adminifter them, but only by the

Anfw. A Sacrament is an Holy Ordinance inftituted by Chrift; wherein, by fenfible Signs, Chrift and the Benefits of the New Covenant are reprefented, fealed and applied to Believers *.

93. Queft. Which are the Sacraments of the News Teftament?

Anfw. The Sacraments of the New Testament, ire Baptifm, and the Lord's Supper *.
