As civil days begin at 12 o'clock at midnight, and end at the same time, the Sabbath may and ought to be suited to that most convenient, natural and general com putation of time. God promises to those who keep it, Isa. lvi. 2, 6, 7, and Iviii. 13, 14, peculiar favour, Q. 45. What is the design of the Sabbath? A. As a day of rest, of worship, religious instruction, meditation, &c. Q. 46. How are we to keep it? A. We are to cease from worldly employments, conversations, and thoughts, Isa.
