thee to be the consummation of charity in the fruition of glory. Amen.
O eternal God, whose counsels are in the great deep, and thy ways past finding out, thou hast built our faith upon thy proinises, our hopes upon thy goodness, and hast described our paths between the waters of comfort and the dry barren land of our own duties and affections. I acknowledge that my
comforts are de red from Thee, and to myself I owe all my shame and my confusions. Give me the assistance of the Holy Ghost to help me in performing my duty, and give me those comforts and visitations of the Holy Ghost, which thou, in thy infinite and eternal wisdom, knowest most expedient to encourage my duties, to entertain my hopes, to alleviate my troubles, to refresh my spirits, and to support my continuance and constant endeavors in the ways of religion and holiness. Lead me, O God, from grace to grace, from imperfection to strength, from acts to habits, from habits to confirmation in grace, that I may pass into the regions of comfort, receiving the earnest of the Spirit, and the adoption of thy children; till by being thus sealed with thy seal, I am consigned to glory, and enter into the possession of the inheritance which thou permittest us to expect in the kingdom of thy Son, and in the fruition of the felicities of thee, O gracious Father, God eternal. Amen.
O Holy and Almighty God, Father of mercies, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of thy love and eternal mercies, I adore, and praise, and glorify thy infinite and unspeakable love and wisdom, who hast sent thy Son from the bosom of felicity, to take
upon Him our nature, and hast made the Son of God to become the Son of man, that we might become the sons of God, and partakers of the Divine nature. Since thou hast so exalted human nature, be pleased to sanctify my heart, that by a conformity to the humility, and laws, and sufferings of my Saviour, I may be united to his spirit, and be made one with the holy Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS AND GRACE.
O most gracious God and merciful Father! I beseech thee, for the sake of thy dear Son Jesus Christ, to pardon and forgive all my sins and transgressions, which I have at any time committed against thy divine majesty.
In confidence of thy great mercy and goodness to all that are truly desirous to love and serve thee, I humbly implore the grace and assistance of thy Holy Spirit, to enable me to become every day better, and to reform whatever has been amiss in the temper and disposition of my mind, or in any of the actions of my life.
Grant me the wisdom and understanding to know my duty, and the heart and will to do it. Vouchsafe me the continual presence and direction, the assistance and comforts of thy Holy Spirit, whereby I may be disposed and enabled to do thy will with delight and cheerfulness, and with patience and contentedness to submit to it in all things.
Endue me, O Lord, with a true fear and love of thee, and with a prudent zeal for thy glory. Increase in me more and more the graces of charity and meekness, of justice and fidelity Give me humility and patience, and a firmness of spirit, to bear every condition with constancy and equality of mind. Enable
me, O Lord, to subdue and conquer every inordinate lust and passion, and to govern all my appetites by temperance, and purity, and meekness of wisdom; setting thee always before me, that I may not sin against thee. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Purify my soul from all evil thoughts and inclinations, from all bad intentions and designs. Deliver me, O Lord, from pride and vanity, from immoderate self-love, and obstinate self-will; and from all malice, envy and ill-will towards my neighbour.
