Céramique de Grande Grèce: la collection de fragments Herbert A. Cahn

Catalogue accompanying a current exhibition in Geneva of vase fragments in the remarkable collection of Herbert A. Cahn. These were produced by Greek colonists living in Sicily and western Italy between 440 and 275 BC and are mainly red-figure. Each fragment is illustrated and fully discussed by region, including the identification of the artist where possible. Almost all the painting depicts figures from warriors fighting amazons to Orestes and Electa sitting dejected on their father's tomb, to revellers at a symposium. French Text.
