Peter James, a British writer and novelist born in 1948, spent several years as a film producer. He began his writing career in 1979 and has since produced a variety of thrillers based in espionage, finance, the supernatural, and medicine. He is extremely knowledgeable about computers and was the founder of a pioneer British Internet and email service provider, PLC. His novels include Dead Letter Drop, Billionaire, Twilight, and Host.
