procede perversamente, non si ity vaunteth not itself, is not
gonfia;
puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseem-
ly, seeketh not her own, is not
easily provoked, thinketh no
evil;

5 Non opera disonestamente, non cerca le cose sue proprie, non s' inasprisce, non divisa il male;

9 Conciossiachè noi conosciamo in parte, e in parte profetizziamo.

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but
whether there be prophecies, they
shall fail; whether there be tongues,
they shall cease; whether there be
knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we
prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is per-
fect is come, then that which is
in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake
as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I
became a man, I put away child:
ish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

that ye may prophesy.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

2 For he that speaketh in an un-
known tongue speaketh not unto
men, but unto God: for no man
understandeth him; how beit in
the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
3 But he that prophesieth speak-
eth unto men to edification, and
exhortation, and comfort.

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

learned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: how beit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

26 How is it then, brethren ? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

clare unto you gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

13 Ora, se non vi è risurrezione de' morti, Cristo ancora non è risuscitato ;

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised :

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
