28 Denn die Erde bringet von ihr felbst zum ersten das Gras, darnach die Achren, darnach den vollen Weizen in den Achren.

29 Wenn sie aber die Frucht gebracht hat, so schickt er bald die Sichel hin, denn die Ernte ist da.

30 Und er sprach: Wem wollen wir das Reich Gottes vergleichen? Und durch welch Gleichniß wollen wir es vorbilden?

31 Gleichwie ein Senfforn, wenn das gefäet wird aufs Land, so ist es das fleinste unter allen Samen auf Erden;

32 Und wenn es gefäet ist, so nimmt es_zu, und wird größer, denn alle Kohlfräuter; und gewinnet große Zweige, also, daß die Vögel unter dem Himmel unter seinem Schatten wohnen können.

33 Und durch viele solche Gleichnisse sagte er ihnen das Wort, nachdem sie es hören konnten.

34 und ohne Gleichniß redete er nichts zu ihnen; aber insonderheit legte er es seinen Jüngern alles aus.

35 und an demselbigen Tage des Abends sprach er zu ihnen: Laßt uns hinüber fahren.

36 Und sie ließen das Volk gehen, und nahmen ihn, wie er im Schiffe war; und es waren mehrere Schiffe bey ihm.

37 Und es erhob sich ein großer Windwirbel, und warf die Wellen in das Schiff, also, daß das Schiff voll ward.

38 Und er war hinten auf dem Schiffe, und schlief auf einem Kiffen. Und sie weckten ihn auf, und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, fragst du nichts darnach, daß wir verderben?

39 Und er stand auf, und bedrohete en Wind, und sprach zu dem Meere: Schweig, und verstumme! Und der Bind legte sich, und ward eine große Stille.

40 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wie

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is

come.

30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31 It is like a grain of mustardseed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why

41 Und sie fürchteten sich sehr, und sprachen unter einander: Wer ist der? Denn Wind und Meer sind ihm gehorfam.

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

CHAPTER V.

die Gegend der Gadarener.

2 Und als er aus dem Schiffe trat, lief ihm alsobald entgegen aus den Gräbern ein besessener Mensch mit einem unsaubern Geiste,

3 Der seine Wohnung in den Gräbern hatte. Und Niemand konnte ihn binden, auch nicht mit Ketten.

4 Dean er war oft mit Fesseln und Ketten gebunden gewesen, und hatte die Ketten abgerissen, und die Fesseln zerrieben, und Niemand konnte ihn zähmen.

5 Und er war allezeit, beydes Tag und Nacht, auf den Bergen, und in den Gräbern, schrie, und schlug sich mit Steinen.

6 Da er aber Jesum sah von ferne, lief er zu, und fiel vor ihm nieder, schrie laut, und sprach:

7 Was habe ich mit dir zu thun, o Jefu, du Sohn Gottes, des Allerhöchften? Ich beschwöre dich beh Gott, daß du mich nicht quäleft.

8 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Fahre aus, du unsauberer Geist, von dem Menschen! 9 Und er fragte ihn: Wie heißest du? Und er antwortete, und sprach: Legion heiße ich, denn unser ist viel.

10 Und er bat ihn sehr, daß er sie nicht aus derselben Gegend triebe.

11 Und es war daselbst an den Bergen eine groffe Heerde Säue an der Weide.

12 Und die Teufel baten ihn alle, und sprachen: Laß uns in die Säue fah

2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

8 (For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.) 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

13 Und alsobald erlaubte es ihnen Jesus. Da fuhren die unsaubern Geister aus, und fuhren in die Säue; und die Heerde stürzte sich mit einem Sturme ins Meer, (ihrer waren aber beh zweh Tausend) und ersoffen im Meere.

14 Und die Sauhirten flohen, und verkündigten das in der Stadt, und auf dem Lande. Und sie gingen hinaus zu sehen, was da geschehen war. 15 Und famen zu Jesu, und sahen den, so von den Teufeln beseffen war, daß er saß, und war bekleidet und vernünftig, und fürchteten sich.

16 Und die es gesehen hatten, sagten ihnen, was dem Besessenen widerfahren war, und von den Säuen.

17 Und sie fingen an und baten ihn, daß er aus ihrer Gegend zöge. 18 Und da er in das Schiff trat, bat ihn der Besessene, daß er möchte bey ihm seyn.

19 Aber Jesus ließ es ihm nicht zu, sondern sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin in dein Haus und zu den Deinen, und verkündige ihnen, wie große Wohlthat dir der Herr gethan, und sich deiner erbarmet hat.

20 Und er ging hin, und fing an auszurufen in den zehn Städten, wie große Wohlthat ihm Jesus gethan hatte. Und Jedermann verwunderte sich. 21 Und da Jesus wieder herüber fuhr im Schiffe, versammelte sich viel Volfs zu ihm, und war an dem Meere.

22 Und siehe, da kam der Obersten Einer von der Schule, mit Namen Jairus. Und da er ihn sah, fiel er ihm zu Füßen,

23 Und bat ihn sehr, und sprach: Meine Tochter ist in den letzten Zügen; du wollest kommen, und deine and auf sie legen, daß sie gesund orde, und lebe.

4 Und er ging hin mit ihm; und folgte ihm viel Volks nach, und sie ängeten ihn.

13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand,) and were choked in the sea. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind and they were afraid.

16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him. And all men did marvel.

21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him and he was nigh unto the sea.

25 Und da war ein Weib, daß hatte den Blutgang zwölf Jahre gehabt,

26 Und viel erlitten von vielen Aerzten, und hatte alles ihr Gut darob verzehret, und half sie nichts, sondern vielmehr ward es ärger mit ihr.

27 Da die von Jesu hörete, kam sie im Volke von hinten zu, und rührete sein Kleid an.

28 Denn sie sprach: Wenn ich nur fein Kleid möchte anrühren, so würde ich gesund.

29 llud alsobald vertrocknete der Brunnen ihres Bluts; und sie fühlte es am Leibe, daß sie von ihrer Plage war gesund geworden.

30 Und Jesus fühlte alsobald an ihm selbst die Kraft, die von ihm aus- | gegangen war, und wandte sich um zum Volke, und sprach: Wer hat meine Kleider angerühret?

31 Und die Jünger sprachen zu ihm: Du siehest, daß dich das Volf dränget, und sprichst: Wer hat mich angerühret?

32 Und er sah sich um nach der, die das gethan hatte.

33 Das Weib aber fürchtete sich, und zitterte, (denn sie wußte, was an ihr geschehen war) kam, und fiel vor ihm nieder, und sagte ihm die ganze Wahrheit.

34 Er sprach aber zu ihr: Meine Tochter, dein Glaube hat dich gesund gemacht; gehe hin mit Frieden, und seh gesund von deiner Plage.

35 Da er noch also redete, kamen etliche vom Gesinde des Obersten der Schule, und sprachen: Deine Tochter ist gestorben, was bemühest du weiter den Meister?

36 Jesus aber hörete bald die Rede, die da gesagt ward, und sprach zu dem Obersten der Schule: Fürchte dich nicht, glaube nur.

37 und ließ Niemand_ihm_nachfolgen, denn Petrum, und Jakobum, und Johannem, den Bruder Jakobi.

38 Und er fam in das Haus des Obersten der Schule, und sah das Getümmel, und die da sehr weineten und heuleten.

39 Und er ging hinein, und sprach

25 And a certain woman which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus came in the press behind, and touched his garment:

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troub lest thou the Master any further? 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39 And when he was come in,

42 Und alsobald stand das Mägdlein auf, und wandelte; es war aber zwölf Jahre alt. Und sie entsetzten sich über die Maaße.

43 Und er verbot ihnen hart, daß es Niemand wissen sollte; und sagte, fle sollten ihr zu essen geben.

Das 6 Capitel.

40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha-cumi: which is, being interpreted, Damsel, (I say unto thee) arise.

42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

CHAPTER VI.

fam in sein Vaterland; und seine Jünger folgten ihm nach.

2 Und da der Sabbath kam, hob er an zu lehren in ihrer Schule. Und viele, die es höreten, verwunderten sich seiner Lehre, und sprachen: Woher kommt dem solches? Und was Weisheit ist es, die ihm gegeben ist, und solche Thaten, die durch seine Hände geschehen?

3 Ift er nicht der Zimmermann, Mariä Sohn, und der Bruder Jakobi, und Joses, und Judâ, und Simonis? Sind nicht auch seine Schwestern allhier bey uns? Und sie ärgerten sich an ihm. 4 Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ein Prophet gilt nirgend weniger, denn 1 Vaterlande und daheim bey den einen.

and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 2 And when the sabbath-day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
