This volume contributes to diversity research within communication studies, taking into consideration the representation and implementation of social and cultural diversity in the public sphere, particularly in the mass media. In the first part, concepts of diversity are outlined with respect to a normative claim. In the second part, the focus lies on particular political decision-making and implementation of diversity measures in media regulation, public diplomacy, and science. The last part presents an analysis of the construction of diversity in internationally traded TV programs.
