this day hath Jehovah caused all the creatures of the universe to stand in judgment, either as children, or as servants. If we are esteemed as children, have mercy upon us, as a father hath mercy on his children; and if as servants, our spirits are. perpetually directed towards thee, till thou art gracious to us,

הַיּוֹם הֵרַת עוֹלָם הַיּוֹם יַעֲמִיד בַּמִשְׁפָּט כָּל־ יְצוּרֵי עוֹלָמִים אִם כְּבָנִים אִם כַּעֲבָדִים אִם כְּבָנִים רַחֲמֵנוּ כְּרַחֵם אָב עַל־בָּנִים וְאִם כַּעֲבָדִים עֵינֵינוּ

behold speedily the glory of thy power, which will expel the unworthy from the earth, and destroy their idols, that the universe may be established under the dominion of the Almighty; for all the children of the Creation shall call on thy name, and all the wicked of the earth shall turn to thee. It is also said, Jehovah hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath Jehovah seen perverseness in Israel : Jehovah, his God, is with him, and the shout of the Supreme Ruler is among them *. And it is said, And Jehovah was Ruler in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people, and the tribes of Israel, were gathered together. And in thy holy word it is written, For the dominion is Jehovah's, and Jehovah is the governor among the nations. And it is said, Jehovah presideth, surrounded with glory; Jehovah is clothed, and girded with strength: the world that Jehovah hath established, cannot be moved. And it is said, Lift up your heads, O ye gates! and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the Sovereign of glory shall come in. Who is this Sovereign of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates! even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the Sovereign. of glory shall come in. Who is this Sovereign of glory? Jehovah of hosts, is the Sovereign of glory. Selah.
