Jean-Baptiste Martin Dartaguiette d'Iron, né en 1682 à Mendionde paroisse Saint Cyprien (en pays Basque) dans la maison infançonne d'Iron, baron d'Aguerre, marquis de La Mothe Saint-Heray (en Poitou) par Lettre du Roi donnée à Versailles en 1723 .
Décédé dans son hôtel particulier Rue de Richelieu, Inhumé Eglise Saint Eustache à PARIS en 1748.
Parmi les plus riches financiers de Paris de l'époque.
La Seigneurie de La Mothe Saint-Heray (la plus belle du Poitou) achetée le 16 novembre 1719 pour la somme de Six cent cinquante mille Livres.

Jay Higginbotham is Director of the Mobile Municipal Archives. Author of thirteen books, he has received five literary awards, including the Gilbert Chinard Prize and the Alabama Library Association Award.
