At the Tenth Annual General Meeting of the BRITISH and FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY, held at the Free Masons' Hall, London, May 4, 1814,

The Report of the Committee having been read by the President, it was, on Motion of His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent, seconded by the Hon. and Very Rev. the Dean of Wells,

RESOLVED,

That the Report of the Committee be received and adopted; and that it be printed under the direction of the Committee.

On a Motion by the Right Honorable the Chancellor of His Majesty's Exchequer, seconded by the Lord Bishop of Salisbury,

it was

Resolved UNANIMOUSLY,

That the cordial Thanks of this Meeting be given to the Right Hon. Lord Teignmouth, the President of this Society, for his Lordship's unremitted and important exertions to promote the interests and extend the usefulness of this Institution.

On a Motion by His Excellency Count De la Gardie, Ambassador from Sweden to the Court of Madrid, seconded by the Rev. George Burder, it was

resolved UNANIMOUSLY,

That the cordial Thanks of this Meeting be given to the Right Reverend, Right Honorable, and others, the Vice Presidents, for the continuance of their Patronage and Support to this Society.

On a Motion by the Lord Bishop of Norwich, seconded by Charles Grant, jun. Esq. M.P. it was

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

That the Thanks of this Meeting be given to their Royal Highnesses the Dukes of York, Kent, Cumberland, Sussex, and Cambridge; and to His Highness the Duke of Gloucester, for their Patronage of the object of this Society; and to their Royal Highnesses the Dukes of Kent and Sussex, for the zeal and ability with which they have promoted its interest on so many occasions, by their personal exertions; and also to His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent, for his attendance and obliging assistance at this Anniversary.

On a Motion by the Right Hon. Earl of Northesk, seconded by the Rev. Dr. Romeyn, it was

That the cordial Thanks of this Meeting be given to the Committee, for their able, zealous, and judicious exertions.

On a Motion by the Rev, the Warden of Manchester, seconded by J. D. Porcher, Esq. M.P. it was

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

That the Thanks of this Meeting be given to Henry Thornton, Esq. M.P., the Treasurer to this Society, for his services during the past year, and that he be requested to continue them.

On a Motion by Henry Thornton, Esq. M.P., seconded by the Rev. Dr. Thorpe, it was

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

That the cordial Thanks of this Meeting be given to the Secretaries, for the zeal and assiduity with which they have, gratuitously, discharged the duties of their office, and for their indefatigable exertions and important services to the Society since the last Annual Meeting.

On a Motion by the Lord Bishop of Norwich, seconded by the Right Hon. Lord Gumbier, it was

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

That the cordial Thanks of this Meeting be presented to the Rev. the Presbytery of Glasgow, for the continuance of their Annual Collections on behalf of this Society; and also to the several Ministers, and Congregations, generally, for their respective Contributions, and the interest they have taken in behalf of this Institution; and to those Friends who have presented it with Copies of the Scriptures, or parts thereof, for the Library; and they are hereby requested to accept such Thanks

Upon a Motion by the Rev. W. Dealtry, seconded by the Rev. Dr. Macbride,

IT WAS FURther resoLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

The British and Foreign Bible Society, under a deep sense of gratitude to God, for the extraordinary success of its object through the establishment of Auxiliary Societies, Branch Societies, Bible Associations, and kindred Institutions, both in the British Dominions and in other parts of the world, offers its Christian acknowledgments to its fellow-labourers of every name and nation, and assures them of the continuance of its friendship, co-operation, and support.
