army, subject to such modifications as may be deemed necessary in practice by the British Commanding Officers; and that the stipulations of Article III of this Convention, which engages that the Turkish troops shall bring with them in the first instance their arms and accoutrements, shall also be understood to apply to the horses of the Cavalry and to the train of Artillery, with all that appertains to both, and generally to a division or corps d'armée prepared to take the field.

IX. The present Convention shall be ratified, and the Ratifications shall be exchanged at Constantinople in the space of six weeks, or sooner if possible, from the day of signature.

In witness whereof the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed the same, and have affixed thereto the seal of their arms.
