unto him; for we cannot order our Speech by reafon of Darkness. Shall it be told him that I fpeak? if a Man fpeak, furely he fhall be fivallowed up. And now Men fee not the bright Light which is in the Clouds: But the Wind paffeth and cleanseth them. Fair Weather cometh out of the North With God is terrible Majefty. Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: He is excellent in Power, and in Judgment, and in Plenty of Juftice: He will not afflict. Men do therefore fear him: He refpecteth not any that are wife of Heart.

Nehemiah. Then the Levites, Fefhua and Nehemiah Kadmiel, Bani, Hafhabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, faid, Stand up and blefs the Lord your God for ever and ever; and Bleffed be thy glorious Name, which is exalted above all Bleffing and Praife. Thou, even Thou art Lord alone, thou haft made Heaven, the Heaven of Heavens with all their Hoft, the Earth and all Things that are therein, the Seas and all that is therein, and thou preferveft them all, and the Host of Heaven worshippeth thee.

David.] When I confider thy Heavens, the Work of thy Fingers, the Moon and the Stars which thou haft ordained; What is Man that thou art mindful of him? And the Son of Man, that thou vifiteft him? For thou haft made him a little lower than the Angels, and haft crowned him with Glory and Honour." Thou madeft him to have Dominion over the Works of thy Hands; thou haft put all Things under his Feet: All Sheep and Oxen, yea, and the Beasts of the Field: The Fowl of the Air, and the Filh of the Sea, and whatsoever paffeth through the Paths of the Seas. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy Name in all the Earth!

The Heavens declare the Glory of God: And the Firmament fheweth his Handy-work. Day unto Day uttereth Speech, and Night unto Night fheweth Knowledge. There is no Speech nor Language, where their Voice is not heard. Their Line is gone out through all the Earth, and their Words to the end of the World: In them hath he fet a Tabernacle for the Sun. Which is as a Bridegroom coming out of his Chamber, and rejoyceth as a ftrong Man to run a Race. His going forth is from the End of the Heaven, and his Circuit unto the Ends of it: And there is nothing hid from the Hear thereof.

Praise ye the Lord. Praife ye the Lord from the Heavens praise him in the Heights. Praife ye him all his Angels: praise ye him all his Hofts. Praife ye him Sun and Moon: praife him all ye Stars of Light. Praife him ye Heavens of Heavens, and ye Waters that be above

the Heavens. Let them praise the Name of the Lord for he commanded, and they were created. He hath alfo stablished them for ever and ever: He hath made a Decree which fhall not pafs. Praise the Lord from the Earth, ye Dragons, and all Deeps. Fire and Hail, Snow and Vapour, ftormy Wind fulfilling his Word. Mourtains and all Hills, fruitful Trees and all Cedars. Beafts and all Cattel, creeping Things, and flying Fowl. Kings of the Earth, and all People; Princes, and all Judges of the Earth. Both young Men and Maidens, old Men and Children. Let them praise the Name of the Lord : for his Name alone is excellent, his Glory is above the Earth and Heaven.

Solomon.] But will God indeed dwell on the Earth? Behold, the Heaven, and Heaven of Heavens cannot contain thee, how much less this House that I have builded.

But who is able to build Him an Houfe, fee- 2 Chron. . ing the Heaven, and Heaven of Heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then that I fhould build him an Houfe, fave only to burn Sacrifice before him?

The Lord by Wisdom hath founded the Prov. iii. Farth; by Understanding hath he established the 19, 20. Heavens. By his Knowledge the Depths are broken up, and the Clouds drop down the Dew.

As thou knoweft not what is the Way of the Eccles, xi. Spirit, nor how the Bones do grow in the s Womb of her that is with Child: even fo thou knoweft not the Works of God who maketh

Ifaiah xl.

xlv. 5--8,

Ifaiah.] Who hath measured the Waters in the Hollow of his Hand? And meted out Heaven with the Span, and comprehended the Duft of the Earth in a Measure, and weighed the Mountains in Scales, and the Hills in a Balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his Counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he Counsel, and who inftructed him, and taught him in the Path of Judgment, and taught him Knowledge, and fhewed to him the Way of Understanding? Behold, the Nations are as a Drop of a Bucket, and are counted as the small Dot of the Balance: Behold, he taketh up the Jfles as a very little Thing. And Lebanon is not fufficient to Burn, nor the Beasts thereof fufficient for a Burnt Offering. All Nations before him are as nothing, and they are counted to him lefs than Nothing, and Vanity.

I am the Lord, and there is none elfe, there is no God befides me: I girded thee, though thou haft not known me: That they may know from the rifing of the Sun, and from the Weft, that there is none befides me, I am the Lord, and there is none elfe. I form the Light, and create Darkness: I make Peace, and create Evil: I the Lord do all thefe Things. Drop down, ye Heavens, from above, and let the Skies pour down Righteoufnefs! Let the Earth open, and let them bring forth Salvation, and let Righteoufnefs fpring up together: I the Lord have ver. 18. created it.---For thus faith the Lord that created

the Heavens, God himself that formed the
Earth and made it, he hath established it, he
created it not in vain, he formed it to be inha-
bited, I am the Lord, and there is none else.

Thus faith the Lord, the Heaven is my lxvi. 1, 2 Throne, and the Earth is my Footstool: Where is the House that ye build unto me? And where is the Place of my Reft? For all thofe Things hath mine Hand made, and all thofe Things have been, faith the Lord: But to this Man will I look, even to him that is poor, and of a contrite Spirit, and trembleth at my Word.

Feremiah.] Fear ye not me? Saith the Lord: Jeremiah Will ye not tremble at my Prefence; which v. 22. have placed the Sand for the Bound of the Sea, by a perpetual Decree that it cannot pass it; and though the Waves thereof tofs themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

But the Lord is the true God, he is the living x. 10--13. God, and an everlasting King: At his Wrath the Earth fhall tremble, and the Nations fhall not be able to abide his Indignation. Thus fhall ye fay unto them, the Gods that have not made the Heavens, and the Earth, even they fhall perifh from the Earth, and from under thefe Heavens. He hath made the Earth by his Power, he hath established the World by his Wisdom, and hath stretched out the Heavens by his Difcretion. When he uttereth his Voice, there is a Multitude of Waters in the Heavens, and he causeth the Vapours to afcend from the Ends of the Earth He maketh Lightnings with Rain, and bringeth forth the Wind out of his Treafures.

Am I a God at hand, faith the Lord, and not xxiii. 23, a God afar off? Can any hide himself in fecret 24. Places that I fhall not fee him? faith the Lord: Do not I fill Heaven and Earth? faith the Lord.
