From the Boston Transcript.

A very handsome Souvenir for girls, printed, bound, and illustrated in an exquisite manner. It consists of alternate verse and prose, entertaining, unexceptionable and often instructive. It is a beautiful gift-book, and we believe the only one intended for the same class of readers that has appeared this season. The novel style of engraving and typography will attract purchasers whom the contents will not disappoint.

THE WANDERERS BY SEA AND LAND. By PETER PARLEY. Illustrated with 12 engravings. 1 vol. 12mo. $1 12; cloth, gilt, $1 50.

If any of our young friends wish to go to Paris, let them by all means get this volume. By PETER PARLEY. 1 vol. 12mo. cloth.
Price $1 12; cloth, gilt edges, $1 50.

Come, girls and boys-black eyes and blue-
And hear a story told for you.

Lay down your books, John, Tom and Bob;
Be seated, if you please. No laughing Rob!
Just stir the fire, Ben. Steady--steady!
Hand me my specs, Tom. So all's ready!
There goes the tongs again, slam bang,
And pussy's tale has got a whang!
Poor puss-be wise-of boys beware,
And keep your tail with better care.
Sit still now, all, and hear the story

Old Peter Parley's rhyme would set before ye.

THE WEEK'S DELIGHT; OR, GAMES AND STORIES FOR THE PARLOR AND FIRESIDE. One neat volume, 16mo. With engravings. Price 75 cents.

From the Southern Literary Messenger.

This is a charming little juvenile: we have read nothing so pleasing for a long while, and the simple fact that we have had an hour's “delight over its pages, is no small compliment we beg to assure our readers. We assure the readers of the Messenger that there is something in "A Week's Delight"-unambitious as the title sounds. It is simply a work for good little girls and boys, and professes no higher end than pointing out to them the means of spending winter evenings pleasantly :-this it worthily ac complishes, and in a way which none but a woman could have devised.
