HE design in this second series of "Lesser Lights" is precisely the same as in the first-to set forth in detail some of the minor characters of Holy Scripture, and to draw out the special practical lessons to be learnt from each, whether in the way of example or of warning. The Introduction prefixed to the first series applies therefore equally to the second: but this may be added that, even among the minor characters of Scripture, a great difference exists.
