blushed. "Thanks." "You're supposed to return the compliment." "Oh.Uhm ..." "
How about: you look terrific, too, Mum?" "You look terrific, too, Mum." "Thank you.
He was standing alone on the terrace. Sober. Sue Anne? Thank God, no. Some
of the officers turned as Mi and Matthew passed. No one spoke. Perhaps there
was a protocol. The barman nodded gravely. The air was warmer outside than in.
