Blood will tell. But we have a right to complain that at this stage of the negotiations between the two branches, a book which really represents but a single class of views in the orthodox Reformed Churches should be issued by the Publication Board of the other branch. It is, so far as it goes, an open rupture of the truce between the two bodies." THE BIBLE BAPTIST. By Thomas P. Hunt.

BIBLE BAPTISM. Two Letters to a Young Christian.

The former of these, is a republication. In it, the writer shows, in the form of a supposed conversation, what is the Scripture mode of baptism, and who are the proper subjects. The latter is a plain statement of the arguments in favor of infant baptism, and answer to some objections against it, presented in the form of letters.

THREE BOYS. SHADOW OF THE ROCKS. THE CURIOUS CHAPTER. THE TWO WALLETS. TERRENIS.

These little volumes form part of the Board's "Series for Youth." In general, they are interesting and instructive, and no doubt will be read with profit by the young. We particularly like "The Two Wallets" and the "Curious Chapter," the latter of which we would have liked better, had the writer been more decided in urging the use of "Sabbath" for "Sunday." "Terrenis" should not have been included in the "Series for Youth." There are so many big words and so many obscure passages, that we are very much puzzled to know for what class of children it was intended.

From Robert Carter & Brothers, 530 Broadway, New York, and for sale by Davis, Clarke & Co., Wood street, Pittsburgh.

LIFE AND LETTERS OF ELIZABETH, last Duchess of Gordon. By Rev. A. Stuart. Elizabeth Brodie was the daughter of religious parents. Early deprived by death of her mother, her education and training devolved on her father, who did all for her a kind and indulgent parent could. It was not until after her marriage with the Marquis of Huntly that she became the subject of religious conviction. After many severe mental conflicts she at last found true rest. For over thirty years she passed through a deep and varied religious experience. Though exposed, on account of her position, to peculiar and very trying temptations, she lived a most consistent and attractive life. Her letters, some of which are here given, breathe the very spirit of true piety. Her name is familiar to all who are well acquainted with the history of the great religious movement in Scotland about the period of the disruption in 1843, and also the remarkable awakening in the north of that country in 1859 and 1860, in both of which she took great interest. This volume contains the account of her life till about 1847, when she connected herself with the Free Church. From that until the time of her death, January 31st, 1864, there is given merely an outline.
