THIS book is simply intended for a help to the spiritual instruction of a young Christian until the time of his Confirmation. Not beyond that, for then the responsibility of a Godparent ceases. There will, therefore, be found here no preparation for Holy Communion; and the last prayer is one for the morning before Confirmation. The author has the materials for a second volume, to be called, "Counsels of an Elder," beginning with, "The Lord's Supper, and How to Prepare for it," and ending with "Reflections on the Office for the Visitation of the Sick."
