NOTICE.

THE Liturgy of the Holy Apostolic Church of Armenia has already been twice translated into English by English clergymen; first by the late Rev. R. W. Blackmore from a Russian translation made by Dolgoroucki Prince Joseph Arghouthiants, Armenian Archbishop in Russia; and secondly by the Rev. S. C. Malan, D.D., formerly Vicar of Broadwindsor, from the Armenian original printed at Constantinople by command of the Patriarch Paul of Adrianople; and each of these versions has passed through two editions. Owing, however, to many circumstances, I have been urged to prepare a Manual which should contain the Armenian original together with an English translation.

For the original I have used, as guides, copies of two Missals, one printed in the city of Smyrna in 1761, and the other in Jerusalem in 1873, inserting a set of proper portions, namely, Introits, Hymns, and Trisagions, which may serve alike for festivals and ordinary days; and for the English I have selected the second of the above mentioned translations, on account of its fidelity and style, the venerable translator having given me permission to use the same, and expressed his willingness to assist me during the printing; which promise he has
