An Act to amend the Act relating to Ocean Steamship HIS [Assented to 10th April, 1908.] IS Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: 1889, c. 2, service 1. Chapter 44 of the statutes of 1903 is repealed, and the 1903, c. 44 following is enacted as section 4 of chapter 2 of the statutes of repealed; 1889, intituled An Act relating to Ocean Steamship Subsidies:- new sec. 4 "4. The Governor in Council may enter into a contract Steamship for a term not exceeding ten years with any individual or com- between pany, for the performance of a steamship service between a Canada and port or ports in Canada and a French port or ports, on such France. terms and conditions as the Governor in Council deems expedient, and may grant therefor a subsidy not exceeding two hundred thousand dollars a year, based upon a minimum service of eighteen round voyages a year, and a subsidy therefor not exceeding one hundred thousand dollars, and so in proportion for a more frequent service." An Act respecting the Salary of the Superintendent of H [Assented to 20th July, 1908.] IS Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: s. 34 1. Subsection 1 of section 34 of The Insurance Act, chapter 34 R. S., c. 34, of the Revised Statutes, 1906, is repealed, and the following is amended. substituted therefor:— tendent's "34. The Governor in Council may appoint an officer, to be Superincalled the Superintendent of Insurance, who shall have the rank rank and of a deputy head of a department, provided that the possession salary. of such rank shall not be deemed to confer the office of deputy head upon the Superintendent nor affect the administration of the department to which he is attached; and such officer shall be paid such salary, not exceeding five thousand dollars per annum, as the Governor in Council may, from time to time, fix and determine." [Assented to 3rd April, 1908.] HIS IS Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: new s. 90. 1. Section 90 of The Supreme Court Act is repealed and the R. S., c. 139, following is substituted therefor: hearing. "90. The appeals set down for hearing shall be entered by Entry of appeals on the Registrar on a list divided into five parts, and numbered as list, and follows:-Number one, Election Cases; Number two, Western order of Provinces Cases; Number three, Maritime Provinces Cases; Number four, Quebec Province Cases; Number five, Ontario Province Cases; and the Registrar shall enter all Election Appeals on part numbered one, all appeals from the Yukon Territory and the Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba on part numbered two, all appeals from the Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island on part numbered three, all appeals from the Province of Quebec on part numbered four, and all appeals from the Province of Ontario on part numbered five; and such appeals shall be heard and disposed of in the order in which they are so entered, unless otherwise ordered by the court."
