Page 7 - Azores, upon which an amount of postage insufficient for their prepayement has been paid, shall be forwarded to their destination, provided the postage has been prepaid to the extent, at least, of one rate. Upon such letters there shall be collected by the Portuguese Post Office, in addition to the Portuguese postage, the amount of the difference between the postage prepaid in the United Kingdom, and the postage which should have been prepaid, together with an additional British rate as a Tine.

The British Post Office shall pay to the Post Offices of France and Spain the transit postage which will be due to those Offices, upon all letters, newspapers, and other printed papers sent between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, on the one side, and Portugal, Madeira, the Azores, the Cape de Verd Islands, and the other Portuguese Possessions on the const of Africa, on the other, through the French and Spanish territories.
