shall be paid up to the end of the month in which the Definitive Treaty shall have been signed; and His Britannic Majesty promises, in addition, to pay to His Majesty the King of Saxony the Subsidy of 1 month, to cover the expenses of the return of his Troops within his own Frontiers.

II. The Minister of His Majesty the King of Saxony in London, shall concert with the Officers to be appointed by His Britannic Majesty, as to the mode most convenient for the transmission of the money for the use of His Majesty the King of Saxony.

III. His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, shall commission an Officer to the Head-Quarters of His Majesty the King of Saxony, in order to report the military operations, and this Officer shall be permitted to ascertain that the Contingent of His Majesty the King of Saxony is kept complete.

IV. This Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications shall be exchanged in London as soon as possible.

In faith of which, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed it, and have affixed thereunto the Seal of their Arms.

(22.-TREATY of Subsidy between Great Britain and Schaumbourg-Lippe and Lippe.-Signed (in English and French) at Paris, 1st August, 1815.

THEIR Serene Highnesses the Princess Regent of Lippe, in her quality of Guardian of the Prince her Son, and the Reigning Prince of Schaumbourg-Lippe, having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna on the 27th of April, 1815, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance signed at the same Place by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 1,300 men.

And His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous to assist, as far as may be in his power, the Princess Regent of Lippe, and the Prince of Schaumbourg-Lippe, in order to enable their Serene Highnesses to make the exertions for carrying into execution their engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, &c. &c. &c. ;

And their Serene Highnesses have named, viz., the Princess Regent of Lippe, the Councillor of State de Treitlinger, &c., and the Prince of Schaumbourg-Lippe, M. Abel, residing Minister, &c., in order to discuss and settle the terms on which the said assistance shall be given.

Who, having communicated to each other their respective Full Powers, have agreed to the following Articles:

ART. I. His Britannic Majesty engages to pay to their Serene Highnesses a Subsidy of £11. 2s. per man, for the service of the year ending on the 1st day of April, 1816, to the number of 1,300 men; 1,000 whereof to be furnished by the Princess of Lippe, and 300 by the Prince of Schaumbourg Lippe. This Subsidy shall be paid in London at the end of each month, by monthly instalments, to the Person duly authorized to receive the same on the part of their Serene Highnesses, and the 1st payment is to be made upon the exchange of the Ratifications of this Treaty.

In case Peace should take place or be signed between the Allied Powers and France before the expiration of the said year, the Subsidy shall be paid up to the end of the month in which the Definitive Treaty shall have been signed; and His Britannic Majesty promises, in addition, to pay to their Serene Highnesses the Subsidy of 1 month, to cover the expenses of the return of their Troops within their own Frontiers.

II. The Agent of their Serene Highnesses in London, shall concert with the Officers to be appointed by His Britannic Majesty, as to the mode most convenient for the transmission of the money for the use of their Serene Highnesses.

III. The present Treaty, made in Duplicate, 1 Copy to be sent to the Princess Regent of Lippe, and the other to the Prince of Schaumbourg-Lippe, shall be ratified, and the Ratifications shall be exchanged in London as soon as possible.

In faith of which, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed it, and have affixed thereunto the Seals of their Arms.

(23).-TREATY of Subsidy between Great Britain and Schwartzburg-Sondershausen and Schwartzburg Rudolstadt.-Signed (in English and French) at Paris, 1st August, 1815.

THE Serene House of Schwartzburg having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna on the 27th of April, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance signed at the same place on the 25th of March last, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 1,300 men ;

And His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous, as far as may be in his power, to assist the Serene House of Schwartzburg, in order to enable them to make the exertions

for carrying into execution their engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, &c. &c.;

And the Serene House of Schwartzburg have named, viz.: His Serene Highness the Prince of Schwartzburg-Sondershausen the Chamberlain De Seelhorst, &c. in the service of His Serene Highness the Duke of Anhalt-Bernbourg; and His Serene Highness the Prince of Schwartzburg-Rudolstadt has named the Colonel A. De Brockenburg, &c. in order to discuss and settle the terms on which the said assistance shall be given;

Who, having communicated to each other their respective Full Powers, have agreed to the following Articles;

ART. I. His Britannic Majesty engages to pay to the Serene House of Schwartzburg a Subsidy of £11 2s. per man, for the service of the year ending on the 1st day of April, 1816, to the number of 1,300 men; 650 men being to be furnished by each Branch of the said Serene House of Schwartzburg. This Subsidy shall be paid in London at the end of each month, by monthly instalments, to the Person duly authorized to receive the same on the part of the Serene House of Schwartzburg, and the 1st payment is to be made upon the exchange of the Ratifications of this Treaty.

In case Peace should take place or be signed between the Allied. Powers and France before the expiration of the said year, the Subsidy shall be paid up to the end of the month in which the Definitive Treaty shall have been signed; and His Britannic Majesty promises, in addition, to pay to the Serene House of Schwartzburg the Subsidy of 1 month, to cover the expenses of the return of their Troops within their own Frontiers.

(25.)—TREATY of Subsidy between Great Britain and Wirtemberg-Signed (in English and French) at Brussels, 6th June, 1815.

His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg having, by a Treaty signed at Vienna on the 30th of May, 1815, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance, signed at the same place on the 25th of March last, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Austria, Russia, and Prussia, and having engaged to employ in the field a Contingent of 20,000 men, one-tenth of which shall be Cavalry, with Artillery in proportion;

And His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being desirous, as far as may be in his power, to assist the King of Wurtemberg, in order to enable His Majesty to make the exertions to carry into execution his engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, &c. &c. &c. ;

And His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg has named General Hugel, in order to discuss and settle the Terms on which the said assistance shall be given;

Who, having communicated to each other their respective Full Powers, have agreed to the following Articles:

ART. I. His Britannic Majesty engages to pay to His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg a Subsidy of £11 2s. per man, for the service of the year ending on the 1st of April, 1816, to the number of 20,000 men.
