TO THE TRADE-ANNOUNCEMENT.

The Committee of the New York Book Trade Sale, believing that an Annual Trade Sale, of magnitude sufficient to call together representatives of all important dealers in the country, would be of great advantage to the Trade as a whole, and especially to contributors to such sale, and being convinced by experience that such a sale can be secured only by the contribarion of attractive Invoices of Books in quantities to be sold without reserve, have advised the Auctioneers to return to this principle in the coming sale. The Commiitee cordially invite Publishers of Philadelphia, Boston, and New York, to assist in ihis attempt to bring about a sale really worthy of the country, and which will interest every Publisher and Bookseller in it.

"Mr. Angell's book was first published in 1819, and the reputation of the author, as well as its intrinsic merit, caused it at once to be regarded as authority by the profession; and for twenty years it has held a first place in the estimation of courts and the bar. The edition before us bears evidence of labor in its preparation, and the later cases are cited with discrimination."

“The present edition is the first one published in eleven years, and since the author's death; and, of course, the immense recent legislation of this kind furnished the editor with abundant material, which he has used with very severe judgment. His notes have the excellent quality of being always exactly pertinent to their place, and devoid of superfluous matter."Western Jurist, Des Moines, Iowa.

and Suits in Equity and Admiralty, with an Appendix containing the AMERICAN AND English STATUTES OF LIMITATIONS, and embracing the latest Acts on the subject. By Josepi K. ANGELL, Esq. Fifth Edition, revised by John WILDER MAY, Esq. 8vo. Law sheep, $7 50.

In the preparation of this edition, the editor has pursued the same plan as in the former. About four hundred additional cases, decided since the publication of the fourth edition, have been cited in their appropriate places; and the work will be found, as heretofore, a pretty nearly complete repertory of what is to be found in the books of value upon the Law of Limitations.

There is high authority for saying that this is much the best treatise on the very important subject to which it relates ; Lord Brougham having pronounced that opinion of the first edition, which has subsequently been much enlarged and improved. All the learning scattered through the Euglish and American Reports, in regard to the construction and effect of the various Statutes of Limitations, has been diligently compiled and systematically arranged.

This edition has been very much enlarged, both in text and notes. Over eight hundred cases are cited which did not appear in the previous edition. Beside the numerous additions to the former sections, nearly a hundred and fifty new sections have been added to the present edition. Among the new subjects are “Surface Water and Drainage," "Ea ves Drip,” and much of the “Subterranean Diversion" of underground streams and implied easements connected with water.
