PREFACE.

"MAN goeth forth to his work and his “labor, until the evening." Each individual has his appropriate occupation; and what this may be, must depend on convictions of duty derived from Scripture, local circumstances, or professional calling.

Impressions of the brevity of life; a solemn recollection of personal responsibility; a due apprehension of the vast weight of obligation to God, as the Creator and Redeemer; combined with the humble hope of Divine approbation, will prompt the enquiry, Lord! what wilt thou have me to do?
