WE HAVE RECEIVED from three different parties the subscription price of the R. P. & C., with direc-
tions to send to schools or persons that have not the reading of it and who desire it. We have done as
requested. The contributors have the grateful thanks of those whom they have in this way favored
with an opportunity of becoming acquainted with the doings of our church.

DR. SLOANE was able before the close f November to attend the Seminary and take some part in
the exercises, and with the week of Decer 17, he took up his usual duties in the Seminary. The
church has cause for thanksgiving that her prayers have been answered. O. B. Milligan, has begun
theological study, and twenty-one students are now in regular attendance.

PHILADELPHIA PRESBYTERY, (additional.)-Owing to the death of Rev. S. O. Wylie, D. D., Rev. T. P.

Stevenson constituted the court and was chosen moderator for the year. All the ministerial members
were present, and an elder from each congregation except Conococheague. The 2d Philadelphia con-
gregation asked for and was granted the moderation of a call, Rev. T. P. Stevenson to preside, the
moderator being authorized to call an extra meeting of Presbytery to act on it when made out. They
also asked for a constant supply of preaching, and to have the Lord's Supper administered at the usual
time in the spring, both of which requests were granted. A committee was appointed to prepare a
suitable minute on the death of the late Dr. S. O. Wylie, to report at the next meeting of Presbytery.
