Edizione ottocentesca di questa raccolta poetica diÂGian Giacomo Cavalli (1590 ca. - 1656), massimo poeta barocco del Seicento in vernacolo ligure (edizione originale Genova, 1635, con il titolo "Ra Cittara Zemeise. Poezie de Gian Giacomo Cauallo" e poi 1636 con il titolo di "Ra cittara Zeneize. Poexie") pubblicata in occasione delle nozze tra Laura Di Negro con Agostino Spinola e dedicata al padre della fanciulla, Carlo Di Negro. In apertura alcune note anonime relative al poeta Cavalli, segue la pubblicazione dell'elogio di Gabriello Chiabrera sopra il Cavalli da una sua lettera del dicembre 1630 da Savona. L'opera di Cavalli segno' "il trionfo e per certi aspetti la sublimazione dell'alta letterarieta' insita nell'utilizzo del genovese" (Fiorenzo Toso, "Atti dell'Istituto veneto di scienze, lettere ed arti.
