Whereas the Lords and Commons have been forced to make war in self-defence, and certain oaths, declarations, and proclamations have been made against them, judgements given, and grants of their lands made. These are all void, and no man is to award any writ, or pronounce any sentence against any member of these Houses for any such cause -- Steele
