Bibliotheca marsdeniana philologica et orientalis : a catalogue of books and manuscripts collected with a view to the general comparison of languages, and to the study of Oriental literature
William Marsden (1754–1836) published this 1827 catalogue to provide a basis for study into comparative linguistics and oriental literature. British Oriental scholarship flourished in the early nineteenth century, with the expansion of the British interests in Asia, and this work provides an insight into scholarly practice and publishing history.
